"One day, he’s going to know. He’ll know your birthday, your middle name, where you were born, your star sign, and your parents names. He’ll know how old you were when you learned to ride a bike, how your grandparents passed away, how many pets you had, and how much you hated going to school. He’ll know your eye colour, your scars, your freckles, your laugh lines and your birth marks. He’ll know your favourite book, movie, candy, food, pair of shoes, colour, and song. He’s going to know why you’re awake at 5am most nights, where you were when you realised you’d lost a good friend, why you picked up the razor and how you managed to put it down before things went too far. He’s going to know your phobias, your dreams, your fears, your wishes, and your worries. He’s going to know about your first heartbreak, your dream wedding, and your problems with your parents. He’ll know your strengths, weaknesses, laziness, energy, and your mixed emotions. He’s going to know about your love for mayonnaise, your dream of being famous when you were five, your need to quote any film you know all the way through, and your fear of growing older. He’ll know your bad habits, your mannerisms, your stroppy pout, your facial expressions, and your laugh like it’s his favourite song. The way you chew, drink, walk, sleep, fidget and kiss. He’s going to know that you’ve already picked out wedding flowers, baby names, tiles for the bathroom, bridesmaid dresses, and the colour of your bedroom walls. He’s going to know, get annoyed at and then accept that you leave clothes everywhere, take twenty minutes to order a Starbucks, have to organise your DVD’s alphabetically, and check your horoscope… just incase. He’ll know your McDonald’s order, how many sugars to put in your tea, how many scoops of ice cream you want, and that you need your sandwiches cut into triangles. He’s going to know how you feel without you telling him, that you need a wee from a look on your face, and that you’re crying without shedding tears. He’s going to know all of it. Everything. You, from top to bottom and inside out. From learning, from sharing, from listening, from watching. He’s going to know every single thing there is to know, and you know what else? He is still going to love you."
I’ve finished watching Angel Beats!. It’s one of the best anime ever I’ve watched.
In the beginning, I did not understand how the story goes. But I kept watching, until I understood it.
Here the story goes..
There is an afterlife world. People here are the youngsters who can’t reach their dreams when they were alive. In this world, they can do everything they want. After they reach their dreams, they will be obliterated.
My fave character is Otonashi. First he did not understand what kind of world that he’s standing that time. He met some people and he was told that he was in an afterlife world. He was shocked when knowing he was dead, but he did not remember about his past life. Then he was hypnotized by one of them, so he could recall how his life was.
In his previous life, he lived together with his little sister. His little sister was sick and lived in the hospital for a long time. He worked so hard to buy comics for his little sister. He liked to hear ‘thanks’ from his little sister. He did not focused on his education, he only worked and worked, and did not know what his goal of life was.
Time passed by. His little sister health’s condition was worsening. Then she passed away. Then he thought, should he live? What for he live? He found the answer. He should continue to live, to hear ‘thanks’ from others.
He totally changed. He studied so hard. He wanted to be a doctor.
A tragedy happened.
When he was on the way to take a test to entering medical school, the train was trapped in a tunnel. There was no way to exit. He was safe, and started to help others. He also led the victims to share any foods and beverages left to keep them alive together.
It’s been 7 days trapped in a tunnel. No help came. He was so weak, like want to die soon. He borrowed pen to his friend, took his insurance card, and he made an agreement that he want to donor his organs. He wanted to be useful to others even he has died. Then people did the same way as he did.
After signing the agreements of donor, he died. And the same time, aid has just came.
It will be a long post if I write the overall story. :P
So I only write the part story that I like.
I got a life lesson after watching this anime. I’m asking to myself, what is my goal of life? Why am I here? Will I die with no regrets?
